Predictions mixed about U.S. sales in April Will 360 top PS3, or vice versa? It's the burning question: just which format, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, will have seen the biggest hardware boost due to the release of Grand Theft Auto IV last month?
Predictions for the official U.S. figures, set to be published by the NPD Group later this week, are coming in, and they paint a mixed picture.
Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter has claimed that the PS3 will have outsold the Xbox 360 in April, selling 290,000 units to the 360's 275,000.
However, simExchange believes the opposite will be true, with the 360 winning out with sales of 381,000 units to the PS3's 363,000.
Both parties think the Wii will top both Sony and Microsoft, selling somewhere between 600,000 (Pachter) and 734,000 (simExchange) units. |
